Quite a few skin problems or ailments are compounded by conditions like itching and inflammation. These conditions can be adequately addressed by desOwen, a mild corticosteroid (a class of steroid hormones engaged in activities like immune and stress response, controlling inflammation etc). It is also used to treat skin ailments or disorders like dermatitis, rashes and allergies as it minimizes the redness, swelling and itching attendant with these disorders.
Since it is a topical medication, DesOwen should be used only upon the skin. Before using it, shake the container well. It should be applied with clean hands on the affected area (which should be cleaned and dried beforehand). It should be applied as a thin film and rubbed gently in, two to three times a day, or as instructed by your doctor. Avoid using bandages on the affected area, unless specifically asked to by the doctor. Once you finish applying desowen, wash and dry your hands. Also ensure that this medication does not get into your eyes as it may cause or worsen glaucoma.
Possible side effects
When applied for the first time, Generic desowen may cause side effects like stinging, burning, irritation, dryness, burning and redness, all of which ought to disappear within a few days as your system gets used to this medication. However, should any of these conditions persist, you should inform your doctor promptly. DesOwen can also cause more serious (but rare) side effects like thing or discoloration of skin, stretch marks, acne, hair bumps etc. inform your doctor immediately if you experience such conditions.
What to do in case of a missed dose
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Get in touch with your local center for poison control or emergency room immediately, as DesOwen may be dangerous if ingested.
How to store it
It should be stored between 36-86 degrees F (2-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not store it in the bathroom. Ensure that it is discarded once it is past the date of expiry or is no longer required.
